Alldays is located in the heart of a large area known for it’s private hunting and game farms – most offering overnight accommodation. Apart from the game, trees are found in abundance. Of special note is the large baobab found at Bakleikraal with a trunk 21 m in circumference, as well giant wild fig trees. De Beer’s Ventia Diamond Mine is presently the largest producer of diamonds in South Africa. Surrounding the mine is the Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve of 40 000 ha. Another landmark is the fabled Mapungubwe ruins, where gold artifacts and royal graves have been found dating from a 13^th century African Kingdom. A golden rhinocerous, bowl and royal sceptre are on display at the University of Pretoria. The area is also rich in San rock art.
