In case you have wondered, “Amper Bo” means “almost on top”. It was named by the first owner of this stately property, a former mayor of Pretoria, because the original old English styled mansion was built against the Riviera Hill, which overlooks Pretoria. The hill is still a protected nature reserve.

“Amber Bo” is easily accessible and a short distance from historical landmarks, the National Zoological Gardens, Union Buildings, main shopping centres, hospitals, bus routes and major highways. Situated in a scenic street and a peaceful and attractive residential area, you will experience being at home with old friends, and will soon feel the need to return time and time again.

ACCOMMODATION

Our upmarket accommodation consisting of well equipped and attractively decorated bedrooms, includes daily service. Each room is furnished with television, refrigerator and mini-coffe-bar facilities. Fixed air-conditioning appliances also provide for hot as well as cold weather. All rooms are en suite.

You will be able to experience our sought after South African weather to the full. A walk through the garden will find you discovering hidden little fairytale corners, as well as a breathtaking view over the well known hill named “Meintjies Kop”, against which the famous Union Buildings are built. You will also have a fair view across the city centre. “Amber Bo” is centrally situated, but without the hustle and bustle!

Directions

Take R21 highway, follow highway to Pretoria, go around circle (water fountain) you will see Sunnyside off-road. Follow that. Unisa University on your right handside. Go straight on and Mear Str becomes Jeppe, Jeppe becomes Beatrix Str. Go straight on in Beatrix till Pretoria Academic Hospital on your left handside. Dr Savage Road, turn right into Annie Botha Ave. Pass Union Str, then left into Viljoen Str. Guesthouse at the end of the street.
