TGCSA Star Grading DescriptionCome and experience the tranquility of Thaba Pitsi s 500 hectares wildlife sanctuary without the intrusion of television telephone and radio. It is the perfect getaway from the stress of city living. The nature reserve offers an exclusive Out of Africa experience with ample wildlife and a beautiful setting. An experience to savour and enjoy.
We would like you to stay with us. Our proposed rates are the most attractive rates from all the 4-star lodges in our region and the best value on the market!
Our reserve is one of the only 4-star in this area! Nestling in the shadows of the Waterberg Mountains, near Bela-Bela (formerly Warmbaths) in Limpopo Province, Thaba Pitsi is Malaria free private game reserve of 500 hectare. It takes less than 2 hours to reach Thaba Pitsi from Johannesburg and less than one hour thirty minutes from Pretoria, travelling via the national Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg) highways N1 North. Thaba Pitsi Lodge with his Ndebele bungalows and his luxury tented Camp, up there on the hill, in the hart of the nature reserve, speak of sweet dreams under the stars of the African sky (4-Star SABS Grading).
L?Orange Bleue, the restaurant of Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve has earned a proud reputation for its excellent service and fine cuisine (Best restaurant in Limpopo - awarded a Bibendum by Michelin guide NEOS, as well as four stars in the 2003-04-05 edition of Magazine s Top 100 South African restaurants - Selected by BBC Food program as being one of the best Restaurant of SA - selected for Off the Menu BBC show), complimented by a selection of quality wines, popular liqueurs and imported cigars ? for connoisseurs of good living!
From Wine magazine?s "TOP 100 restaurants 2004": "If Warmbaths is mentioned in your guide" says the Michelin Guide for South Africa, "it is due to Thaba Pitsi...". The couple who left Belgium to bring this unlikely spot to the gastronomic world?s attention, are Marc (formerly an international rally driver) and Nathalie (a former model). Their restaurant L?Orange Bleue received a Bibendum smiling face signifying quality. Housed in a rebuild farmhouse with a vivid interior, modern furniture and an open-plan kitchen, the restaurant is rescued from the pages of a designer magazine by a quirky sense of humour. The food is simplicity at its best.....
