All accommodation facilities are conveniently situated on the premises of the Eskom Convention Centre. The location offers a safe environment and ample covered parking. At the Eskom Convention Centre, our first priority is to ensure that our clients and their guests feel right at home.

Providing a full In House catering facility we cater for all events and special occasions, our Marketing team are at your service to discuss your requirements.

The Eskom Convention Centre was built in the early 80's as a Training Centre exclusively for Eskom employees.

In 1992 it was opened to the general public as a Conference Centre and its diverse facilities, with accommodation, has made it a popular venue for local and international guests alike. With the addition of a 2nd Auditorium, an exhibition area and several new venues the name was changed to Eskom Convention Centre in 2000 to depict the professionalism, size, and image.

Originally built on a farm in the tranquillity of the semi-rural highveld, Eskom Convention Centre provides a friendly ambience, superior service and outstanding venues, where clients and their guests can feel right at home. 

Set in 105 hectares of land populated by Zebra, Blesbok, Springbok and of course the Guinea Fowl, the Eskom Convention Centre ensures a relaxed country atmosphere, especially in terms of its rich bird life.  Over forty different bird species can be spotted on the property making it a must for Bird lovers and amateur photographers. In addition the dam on the property is one of the few safe places for the rare bullfrog which is quickly becoming an endangered species.

Because of the diversity of the venue and the facility, we have had the pleasure of hosting a range of corporate clients, associations, government departments, as well as the ex and current President of South Africa and neighbouring countries. Eskom and its subsidiaries remains a very valuable client in both our Commercial Leasing and Conference and accommodation areas.

The Eskom Convention Centre is one of few venues in South Africa to provide a one stop facility for clients, with both conference and accommodation facilities for a large amount of delegates on one site, with full in-house catering for all events.

Catering Facilities

We offer a wide choice of menus - from the exotic to the traditional. Our professional food and beverage team can cater for any function, up to 4,000 delegates.  On request, we will customise your menu to suit your taste and budget.

The Boma can seat up to 100 guests inside, with a further 150 seating outside, around the Boma-fireplace. It’s a perfect venue for:

  • Traditional Braai’s

Conveniently situated, our venues are ideal for both local and overseas delegates, offering:

Congella and Khutala conference rooms

 

 

 

Well-equipped, medium sized conference venues, seating a maximum of 80 delegates. The venue seating can be configured to suit every customer’s request. Most popular styles are U-shape, classroom, or boardroom. In each venue, standard equipment includes; motorized screen, data projector, flip chart, as well as various other facilities, on request.


Edison Boardroom

 

The Edison boardroom is a private and upmarket venue, available for executive use. Seating can be up to a maximum of 12 delegates. The venue has it’s own refreshment area. It’s ideal for board meetings and an obvious choice for VIP’s. The venue includes video conferencing equipment.

 

 


Foyer and Exhibition Hall

Auditorium Foyer Area

 

 

The foyer area, between the John Maree and Ian McRae Auditorium, covering an area of 544m² can be converted into an exhibition area, for the purpose of product displays or exhibitions. Alternatively, the area can be converted to accommodate the serving of finger lunches or a bar area ideal for networking during and after a conference. 

Exhibition Hall

 

 

This venue, which is next to the auditoriums, is ideal for both exhibition purposes and functions. The exhibition area consists of a carpeted floor covering a floor area of 405m² and is lockable for added security. Ample plug points are available and three phase power is supplied. The area is also ideal for press conferences.

 

 


Ian McRae Auditorium

 

This auditorium offers tiered / theatre style seating for a maximum of 210 delegates. It offers a pleasant atmosphere, with comfortable chairs and flip-up tables. Video and data projector with screen, audio recording facilities are standard. Facilities such as satellite link are available on request. Full time technician on site

 

 


John Maree Auditorium

 

 

 

A modern auditorium with tiered / theatre style seating for a maximum of 350 delegates. It boasts translation facilities, a registration area, voting facilities, built-in microphones, satellite links, data projector with screen, video and audio recording facilities. This venue is ideal for interactive meetings, AGM’s and political party conferences. Other features, such as a pressrooms and video conferencing are available on request. Full time technician on site.


Majuba Conference Venue

 

This venue is private, self-contained and luxurious. It seats a maximum of 35 delegates and has its own reception, refreshment, and bar area. In addition to all standard equipment, delegates can enjoy their lunch at the venue.

 

 


Syndicate rooms (13 in total)

 

 

 

These venues can be utilised for meetings, workshops, seminars and computer training. They seat as few as eight, to as many as thirty, delegates, depending on the configuration.

Syndicate rooms offered standard equipment, while specialised equipment such as data projectors are available on request. These venues share a refreshment area.

 


Tutuka and Port Rex

 

Two spacious, medium sized, venues seating a maximum of 55 delegates. . The venue seating can be configured to suit your requirements. Each venue has a motorized screen with a data projector, flip chart, as well as various other facilities on request. These venues share a refreshment area.

Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa's 57 en suite rooms, set amidst tranquil gardens and cobbled walkways, are exquisitely furnished and fully equipped with all the necessary commodities expected of a four-star hotel.

 

CLASSIC

The superbly furnished Classic rooms provide guests with en suite bathrooms, coffee/tea-making facilities, a mini-bar, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, personal safe, satellite television, heated towel rails and a combined air-conditioner/heater unit exuding a rustic charm in its peaceful setting. Most Classic rooms have high thatched roofs.

 

DELUXE

The Deluxe rooms provide guests with en suite bathrooms, coffee/tea-making facilities, a mini-bar, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, personal safe, satellite television, heated towel rails and a combined air-conditioner/heater unit. Most Deluxe rooms enjoy their very own garden patio.

 

JUNIOR SUITES

The stylishly furnished Junior Suites enjoy a spacious lounge area for entertainment and relaxation. The Junior Suite provides guests with an en suite bathroom, coffee/tea-making facilities, a mini-bar, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, personal safe, satellite television, heated towel rails and a combined air-conditioner/heater unit.

 

SUITES

All Suites provides guests with an en suite bathroom, coffee/tea-making facilities, a mini-bar, hairdryer, telephone, personal safe, satellite television, heated towel rails and a combined air-conditioner/heater unit. The Business suite, which is an upstairs room, has a separate lounge and dining room area, the Family suite includes queen-size beds and a lounge area. The hotel's spacious semi Self-Catering suite with a queen-size bed, includes a kitchenette, lounge, dining room and leads out onto a private patio, ideal for an unforgettable escape.

HONEYMOON SUITE

The premier Honeymoon Suite boasts a classic four-poster bed, a Jacuzzi bath and private patio. The second honeymoon suite is luxuriously furnished with a king-size bed and charming thatch roof. Both suites provide guests with an en suite bathroom, coffee/tea-making facilities, a mini-bar, hairdryer, telephone, personal safe, satellite television, heated towel rails and a combined air-conditioner/heater unit.

Deluxe

Kendal (single and double)

 

 

The Kendal deluxe rooms offer comfortable, furnished accommodation with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, TV with M-Net, tea/coffee facilities, radio clock and a communal lounge.

The Kendal units consist of a total of 126 bedrooms (71 rooms with single beds and 56 with double beds). Each unit contains 18 bedrooms (nine on each level), four rooms have double beds, the rest have single.

 

Majuba

The Majuba accommodation unit comprises 77 single rooms. The rooms are equipped with the same conveniences as the Kendal.

 

 


Economy

 

 

 

Economy accommodation comprises 288 single bedrooms with a washbasin and built-in study areas. Four bedrooms share a bathroom.


Paraplegic Guest Room

 

 

 

One especially designed unit is available to accommodate paraplegic guests and is equipped with a double bed, clock radio, TV with M-Net, telephone, tea/coffee facilities and an en suite bathroom.

 

 


Standard

 

 

 

Standard accommodation comprises of 58 single bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Each of these bedrooms is equipped with air conditioning, tea/coffee facilities, clock radio, TV with M-Net, and telephone.

Entertainment such as, Drumming Events, Musical Groups, African Dancers, and Marimba Bands can be arranged at an additional charge.

 

Although it is not essential to decorate the venues, it can add that special atmosphere to your function, with a little draping and chair covers. Those who would like something different you could choose a theme décor and we will adapt the menu accordingly.
