Always bring something warm to wear, as well as a waterproof jacket as the weather on the mountain can become stormy in the afternoons and evenings - although this does depend on the time of year. Nights can be cold. This luxury tent is fully kitted out with heaters, electric blankets and fans for either winter or summer evenings. For the sporting enthusiasts be sure to bring your mountain bike and/or running shoes (we have some SERIOUS hill climbs!) Don't forget :

DirectionsFrom Johannesburg (Travel Time = 50 – 60 minutes) : * From Randburg/Fourways, take the R512 past Lanseria Airport * Proceed 33 kilometres (from Fourways) until you get to a T-junction, turn left continuing on the R512 (towards Sun City). * Proceed westwards 5 kilometres, passing the Hartbeeshoek turnoff to the left. * Immediately after the Hartbeeshoek turnoff, go into a dip, cross the Leeuwen River and turn left onto Skuilkloof road (dirt) at Jacaranda Nursery. * Proceed 2 kilometres along Skuilkloof road. * Eagles Eyrie is plot BR12 on the right-hand side. From Pretoria (Travel Time = 25 – 30 minutes) : * Take the N4 toll road, proceeding in a westerly direction. * Continue along the N4 toll road for 20km until passing the second tollgate. * Immediately after the second tollgate turn left towards Pelindaba. * Turn right (west) onto the R104 towards Pelindaba. * Continue for 7 kilometres, until reaching the R512 T-junction. * Continue straight over the intersection and proceed westwards 5 kilometres, passing the Hartbeeshoek turnoff to the left. * Immediately after the Hartbeeshoek turnoff, go into a dip, cross the Leeuwen River and turn left onto Skuilkloof road (dirt) at Jacaranda Nursery. * Proceed 2 kilometres along Skuilkloof road. * Eagles Eyrie is plot BR12 on the right-hand side. From Sun City (Travel Time = 60 – 75 minutes) : * On exiting Sun City turn left on the R556 towards Pretoria and Johannesburg. * Continue for about 100km until reaching the N4, and then turn left towards Pretoria. * Continue in an easterly direction for about 10km and then glide off left on the R511 which veers right over the N4 towards Hartbeespoort Dam. * At the four-way stop turn right onto the R560. * Continue for 5km, and then turn left onto the R512. * Cross the bridge over the Hartbeespoort Dam and then at the T-junction (just after the rail crossing) turn left and continue on the R512. * Pass Pecanwood golf estate and continue for 1km * Just before crossing the Leeuwen River turn right onto Skuilkloof road (dirt) at Jacaranda Nursery. * Proceed 2 kilometres along Skuilkloof road. * Eagles Eyrie is plot BR12 on the right-hand side. GPS Coordinates: South 25° 47.444´ East 27° 50.271´ Elevation 1310m Airports: Johannesburg International Airport (JIA) The closest international airport is Johannesburg International Airport. Travel Time from JIA = 75 – 90 minutes Lanseria Airport Lanseria Airport is just north of Johannesburg on the R512. Although also handling international flights into and out of Africa, Lanseria Airport does not handle any of the major airlines from overseas destinations.
