Description

Home to numerous antelope species, rhino and small predators. Indigenous orphaned and rehabilitated animals are released back into their natural habitat. Luxury, en suite, air-conditioned rooms are uniquely furnished. Game drives, walks, birding, Zulu storytelling and dancing included in rates.

Milimani Game Sanctuary was bought by Ken and Lois Kuhle in April 2000. Ken has dedicated most of his life to conservation in Kenya. The farm is 3,700 hectares of virgin veldt, unspoilt by the ravages of overgrazing or over development. Milimani nestles among the Rooirante Range and the views from the higher points are breathtaking. The decor is reflective of colours and ideas from Zanzibar. All the furniture is made on site from wrought iron and the magnificent wood found on the farm. There are unique double rooms, all en-suite.The main complex consists of indoor and outdoor restaurants; a winter lounge with log fire place and library; a summer lounge overlooking a water hole plus a camp fire area. There are two swimming pools - one that is built into a man made cave under the summer lounge.Milimani is a true game sanctuary. There is no hunting on the property. The sanctuary offers the facility to free release injured or distressed wildlife. Milimani is also home to two Bengal Tigers that were rescued from an Egyptian Circus in Mocambique in 1996. Guests can meet a San Bushmen family, try out their hand at lighting a fire by rubbing sticks together, shoot with home made bows and arrows and enjoy the rhythm of Bushmen singing and dancing. The farm is home to many of the antelope family plus a recently purchased White Rhino called Rafiki. Ken and Lois, plus their staff, are passionate about this project and make every effort to ensure that guests with leave valuable memories of South African hospitality and bush experiences. Milimani regrets that children under 14 are not allowed.
