Loeire Guest Lodge was established in 1998 at 91 Davidson Road, George.

The beautiful old house today houses our reception area, the manager's accommodation and our kitchen, dining room and lounge.

Behind the house, in the garden area, twenty two en-suite rooms were built.

The quiet setting around the pool and wooden decks in the garden makes for a perfectly restful stay.

One of the main reasons for the success of our business is our staff. They are friendly and always willing to be of service, doing their best to make our guests feel welcome.

The latest additions to Loerie Guest Lodge are the 100m² Conference Room and our Cedar Pub on the first floor. The Conference Room has all the necessary facilities and comforts, whilst the view of the Outeniqua Mountains from The Cedar Pub's deck is breathtaking.

Facilities

Catering

All room bookings are inclusive of a full English Breakfast. As breakfast is extremely important, a healthy and appetising meal is prepared by our kitchen staff, who will (as always) be at your service.

Although we do not offer any other meals, our central location is conveniently close to most of the excellent restaurants in town.

Loerie Guest Lodge also has arrangements with a selection of the most popular restaurants in the area, enabling us to take care of any meal requirements.

Special group arrangements for other in-house catering requirements can be made by prior arrangement with management. We will also provide catering for the conference centre on the same basis.

Cedar Pub

The Cedar Pub is where our guests and friends relax after a full day of activities.

There is a bit of history behind the name of this Pub.

It is named in honour of one of the oldest Cedars that grew in Knysna, but unfortunately had to be cut down because it had to make way for road changes. We were fortunate enough to obtain some of this beautiful wood and utilised it to create our bar counter.

We feel sure that if the bar counter could speak (probably after a few drinks) it would tell many a story of the plentiful years it stood in Knysna - it is part of the same tree from which the splendid wooden sculpture on the Knysna Water Front was crafted.

We realize that the peaceful atmosphere of Loerie Guest Lodge is one of the reasons why guests return to stay with us. Therefore, the pub is only open on request. Arrangements can also be made for an open pub at conferences and special occasions.

Conference

Loerie Guest Lodge boasts an attractive, modern and superbly appointed conference facility.

Seating up to 30 delegates in various configurations, the facility can be utilised for a variety of functions.

Directions

From the N2 Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Take the York Street turn-off left towards the mountain and the town. Carry on straight through town center up to a 3 way roundabout at the George Museum. Turn left at the circle into Davidson Road. Loerie Guest Lodge is 400 metre down the road on the left. From Oudtshoorn over the Outeniqua pass. Take Davidson Road split at George Hospital. Loerie Guest Lodge is about 1 kilometer down the road on the right. From Port Elizabeth / Knysna N2. Take the George turn-off into Courtney Street. Follow Courtenay Street to the roundabout at the George Museum. Continue through the roundabout in the same direction into Davidson Road. Loerie Guest Lodge is 400 metre down the road on the left.
