Agama Tented Camp invites you to experience this drought-ravaged wilderness both in and out its world-renowned floral season. The bush camp is based 20km north of Garies and accommodates 14 people. The comfortable tented accommodation all have their own private bathrooms and spacious decks from where you can absorb this relatively unexplored part of the country. Whether it is an early morning drive, sundowners with breathtaking views, a hike or huddled around a fire in the Kookskerm (Boma), Agama Tented Camp will touch all your senses and offer you an unforgettable experience. Agama Tented Camp, Namaqualand's newest bush camp experience, lies in the heart of an 8 000 ha farm, 20 km north from Garies, in the centre of the floral kingdom. Agama Tented Camp is a bush camp, a breakaway, skilfully hidden in a secluded “kloof”. It does not intrude into the world of the wild, it is part of it.FacilitiesAccommodation: The camp has 7 tents and sleeps 14 guests. Each tent has its own private bathroom with shower, basin and toilet and a spacious deck. All linen and towels provided. Tents are serviced daily. Our rates include dinner and breakfast as well as teas and coffees. Light lunch available on request. We offer scenic drives on the farm. This can be arranged on arrival. Drives departs at 4pm in the summer and at 3pm in the winter and during flower season.
DirectionsDIRECTIONS TO AGAMA TENTED CAMP: Follow the N7 in a northerly direction past the little village of Garies in the heart of Namaqualand. 10km past Garies there is a turnoff to the left (dirt road) signposted KLIPFONTEIN. Turn left here. Follow the road for approx 2km, through 2 motor gates After the second motor gate, look out to your right for the Agama Entrance Sign This gate has a combination lock. Guests receive code on full payment. Follow the signs for approx 10km which will lead you into the kloof where the camp is situated. En route to the camp you will pass two farm houses and a stoor (barn) - dont turn off just follow the signs. Kindly close all the gates you find closed behind you. We would like to kindly request that you drive slowly once entering the farm.
