Albert Falls Nature Reserve is close to Pietermaritzburg and Cramond. It was established in 1975 and offers a wide range of activities ranging from boating, water-skiing and sailing to fishing, bird watching and game viewing. Canoe races are held regularly, starting just below the Albert Falls. The Albert Falls Dam is rated one of the best bass fishing dams in the world. The area around the falls has some delightful walks. The game park captures a truly delightful bushveld hint of old Africa and visitors can either drive or walk through the area. Animals that may be seen include zebra, impala, blesbok, reedbuck, grey duiker, springbok, red hartebeest and oribi.
